Our game this week was played over the board, not in a big international event, but in the 1st round of the 2021/2 Swale Chess Championship.
Both players are well known to me – with the White pieces is youngster Eli Gallamoy and with Black the current Swale Chess Champion David Page.
This was Eli’s first competitive game using a clock and, it is fair to say, that Time Management is the only weak link in his chess armoury
White: Gallamoy, Eli Black: Page, David
Swale Championship Round 1 – Sittingbourne – 26th August 2021
Game in 60 minutes + 15 seconds per move increment
Great news is that Broadstairs Chess Club should soon be meeting on a Monday evening again. It has been a very long time since chess players have enjoyed ‘proper’ over the board games.
Although online chess has been a great benefit to us all it just isn’t the same.
More details to follow as soon as we have the date of our first meeting since the Pandemic started
