Bg2 {Black has made a stake for the   centre and there is plenty of room for both sides to formulate plans} Bg7 6. c4   d4 7. b4 {A good move, Aronyak looks to break up the Black pawns} O-O 8. O-O   Nfd7 {This move adds defence to the pawns on d4 and c5 but also blocks the   queenside a little} 9. bxc5 Nc6 10. d3 Nxc5 11. Nbd2 Re8 {Preparing to push   the 'e' pawn} 12. Rb1 e5 {A logical follow up to his previous move but Gupta   has misjudged the power of his opponent's pieces} 13. Ba3 Bf8 14. Rb5 {With   simple moves White starts putting on the pressure} Nd7 15. Bxf8 Nxf8 16. c5 {   A nice move, Black has problems with developing his Bishop and defending b7} a6   17. Rb2 Qe7 18. Ne4 {Not only defending c5 but also looking at a possible leap   to d6} Rd8 19. Qc2 {Simple and good, adding defence to the pawn and preparing   to double Rooks} Rb8 20. Nfd2 Ne6 21. Rfb1 Kg7 {Material is equal but White   has all of the trumps, more space, active pieces and control of the 'b' file}   22. Rb6 Ra8 23. Rc1 {It is very instructive to see how Aronyak repositions his   pieces} Nb8 {We can see how bad Gupta's position is as he undevelops his pieces   } 24. Rbb1 Qc7 25. Nc4 {Looking at both b6 and d6} Ra7 26. Qb2 Nd7 27. Nb6 Nb8   28. Nd6 {We can see how powerless Black is, something will have to give} Bd7   29. Nd5 {Brilliant, adding even more pressure} Qc6 30. Qb6 {Great move, if   Black exchanges Queens he will lose the b7 pawn as a minimum} Ra8 31. Nxb7 Rf8   32. Nd6 Qa4 {Gupta's last chance to find some space} 33. Ne7 {Black resigned   as he is losing more material} 1-0   

   1. d4 Nf6 2. Nf3 d5 3.   Bg5 h6 4. Bh4 Bf5 5. e3 e6 {Both sides have played the opening phase sensibly}   6. Bd3 Bxd3 7. cxd3 {Interesting, the Queen capture looked more normal but   White's pawns do control many central squares} Be7 {Breaking the pin and   preparing to castle, so can't be a bad move} 8. O-O O-O 9. Bxf6 Bxf6 10. Nc3 {   This move can't be bad, however after giving up the Bishop for the Knight e4   was a logical move} c6 11. a4 Qb6 12. Rb1 {I think the Rook was quite well   developed on a1, another plan for White was Qd2 protecting b2 and the 'd'   pawns and connecting Rooks} a5 13. Re1 Na6 {The position is still level but   Black is starting to get activity for his pieces} 14. Na2 {This seems a   passive square for the Knight} Rfd8 15. Qd2 Be7 {with so many pieces aiming at   the b4 square White needs to find a solid plan} 16. e4 {This is dangerous,   especially with the Black Rook sitting opposite the White Queen} Nb4 17. Nc3   Qa6 {Nice move attacking d3 and suggesting a future queenside expansion} 18.   Ne5 Bf6 {qnother simple move and very strong, the centre is about to explode}   19. Ng4 Bxd4 {Great play, not just winning a pawn but dominating the board} 20.   Nxh6+ {Looking to complicate but Black has plenty of defence available and   just accepts the piece} gxh6 21. Qxh6 Nxd3 {Ignoring the White Queen, this   move attacks not only the Rook but also f2 and b2} 22. Qg5+ Kf8 23. Qh6+ Bg7 {   They say that backward moves are the most difficult to spot, of course Black   now attacks the Queen and the Rook} 24. Qg5 Nxe1 25. Rxe1 dxe4 {Black is   simply a Rook up, his King is safe and he dominates the open 'd' file} 26. h4   Bxc3 {Exchanges only help the player who is up material} 27. bxc3 Rd5 {Lovely   playpreparing to double, and if required the King can run to the queenside} 28.   Qh6+ Ke7 29. g4 Qd3 {very instructive to watch Black just centralise his   pieces, great play} 30. Qg7 Qf3 {The White King is looking doomed} 31. g5 Rf5 {   Great move, this stops and attacks on f6 and targets f2} 32. Re3 {Losing but   there was not a defence, if Rf1 Black wins at least the Queen} (32. Rf1 Qg4+   33. Kh2 Qxh4+ 34. Kg2 Rxg5+) 32... Qxf2+ {It is mate in 3 and White resigned}   0-1
